Overall Responsibility

Manage all accounting related activities for the Americas and provide IFRS/GAAP guidance for the Americas

 

Key Task and Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations for the Americas including Invoicing, Credit & Collections, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Cost & Inventory Accounting.
  • Be the subject matter expert on revenue recognition, lease accounting and other GAAP/IFRS topics
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, including ensuring all inter-company transactions are recorded appropriately.
  • Assume the lead role in month-end and year-end close process, including being the liaison with the external auditors for annual audit work & coordinating the annual physical inventory.
  • Experience with multi-currency accounting for transactions and translations.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
  • Work with 3rd party income tax preparers to ensure accurate and timely income filings (federal and state).
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the balance sheet budget/financial forecasts and supply chain variances.
  • Drive effective cash management through best practices in collections and payables as well as lead short-term cash flow forecasting for the Americas.
  • Manage a small team across multiple accounting functions.

Skills and Attributes

  • Communication- ability to explain financial statements and accounting principles/ treatment in terms that assist the CFO and other leadership team members in understanding & improving business performance.
  • Analytical- ability to analyze trends and look for exceptions; ability to isolate drivers of variances.
  • Process Improvement- experience driving process improvement through end-to-end process analyses as well as automation opportunities.
  • Organization- ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and bring those projects to completion on a timely basis.
  • Management- established clear and specific goals to manage the performance of his/her team and the individuals on the team.

 

Experience Required

  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Advanced degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX (D365) strongly preferred (or other ERP), including acting as administrator for the financial modules of the system.
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) strongly preferred (or other similar consolidation/financial reporting tool).
  • Manufacturing industry experience a plus.
